EISS Operations Manager
About the Role
- Lead day-to-day operations and serve as the main liaison between Patriot and the EPA TOCOR
- Manage a geographically distributed team of IT professionals across ORD sites nationwide
- Oversee delivery of infrastructure services: servers, storage, networking, VoIP, service desk, and information security
- Ensure software patching and security incident response meet EPA deadlines (e.g., critical vulnerabilities mitigated within 15 days)
- Prepare and deliver all required reports: weekly progress, weekly staffing, monthly invoice, and ad hoc data calls
- Develop and maintain the QA-QC Plan and ensure compliance with ITIL v4, PMBOK, and EPA IT security policy
- Track projects, manage subcontractors, and maintain all asset and documentation libraries (DHL, DML, DDL)
- Lead transition-in from the incumbent and plan transition-out at contract end
- 8+ years of IT infrastructure or operations management experience, including 4+ years in federal contracting
- Prior experience as a Task Order Manager, Program Manager, or senior IT operations lead on a federal contract
- Working knowledge of enterprise IT: Windows/Linux servers, VMware, SAN storage, networking, and VoIP
- Familiarity with NIST 800-53, FISMA, ITIL v4, and federal IT security compliance requirements
- Strong communicator — able to translate technical details into clear reporting for government stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- PMP or ITIL v4 Foundation certification
- Experience with EPA ORD, EPA enterprise systems (VMWare, DataCore and PureStorage SAN, SharePoint, Automation, Network & Security, SCCM, EM7), and scientific research IT environments
- Cloud experience in FedRAMP-authorized environments (AWS GovCloud or Azure Government)
- Windows Server / Red Hat Linux enterprise administration management experience
