Patriot, LLC is seeking an onsite temporary Desktop Engineer II to play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of desktop environments across the organization. This position is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and upgrading hardware and software systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing Microsoft Windows desktop applications and be adept at providing both onsite and remote support to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain desktop hardware and computer equipment.
  •  Design, test, integrate, and upgrade Microsoft Windows desktop applications, including Office 365 and Windows 11 Enterprise.
  • Utilize SCCM for managing Windows 11 images, software, and applications.
  • Create, test, and deploy Microsoft Windows scripts to automate processes.
  • Respond to client support requests, assessing and resolving issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Provide onsite support and utilize remote access tools to assist users as needed.
  • Troubleshoot issues remotely and provide clear, concise instructions to users.
  • Document technical issues and solutions in ServiceNow via work notes, escalating unresolved issues to higher support levels.
  • Follow up with clients to ensure resolution of issues and functionality of their systems.
  • Prepare technical documentation and manuals and maintain comprehensive work tickets.
  • Ensure all open requests are resolved promptly and generate reports as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Hands-on experience with Windows, Linux, and macOS environments.
  • Proficient in the use of office automation products and computer peripherals, including printers and scanners.
Experience with package engineering and deployment of updates/patches to end-user environments.
  • Strong knowledge of network security practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Additional Requirements:
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, CompTIA) are a plus.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing technologies and learn new skills rapidly.
A proactive approach to finding solutions and implementing improvements.
